After the success of our June event, we’re delighted to announce that our wine tasting evenings with the legendary Jim Dawson will now be a monthly series at Baccello.

This time, Jim will be diving into the weird and wonderful world of unusual Italian grape varieties – from forgotten native grapes to rare regional gems you won’t find on your average wine list. Expect bold characters, fascinating backstories, and plenty of “wait, what grape was that again?” moments.

With over 40 years in the wine trade and a cult following in Christchurch for his sell-out tastings, Jim brings a wealth of experience and an infectious passion for making wine fun, approachable and a little bit unexpected.

Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of 8 distinctive wines, with a mix of whites, reds, and perhaps a few surprises. You’ll also take part in a relaxed tasting exercise designed to sharpen your palate and expand your wine vocabulary.

As always, there will be exclusive on-the-night offers on bottles and curated case deals with free local delivery.
